Lenoir City Dentistry - Mavarest Network

We are aware that the Tricare dental coverage for military retirees is changing for 2019.  We have spoken with several of you and hope that we have been able to answer your questions.  After reviewing the plan options we share the following information.

Of the choices, you have been given for 2019, and the information we currently have, we are in-network for the MetLife FEDVIP plan via our contract with the Mavarest Network.    For the other choices, Delta, Aetna, Humana, GEHA, etc., we are considered out of network. Keep in mind if you choose these out of network plans, we will still file your insurance and they will process your claim according to their out of network guidelines.

Some of our other patients have been offered the Delta Dental PPO plan this year.  This one can be confusing. We are a Delta Dental Premier provider but have not contracted directly for the PPO plan.   So you may be told that we are out of network for Delta Dental PPO, and this is correct. However, as part of the Delta Dental network, we will continue to file your insurance for you and take the write-offs as indicated by your plan.

As a reminder, we are part of the Mavarest network. This allows us to be in-network for some

Aetna, Humana, Ameritas, Cigna, Guardian, MetLife, Principal Financial Group, United Healthcare, and Renaissance dental plans, along with a few others.   Please check your insurance options to see if any are part of the Mavarest network which would make us in-network for those plans.

We understand that insurance can be very confusing, please feel free to call us if you have questions.  We may ask you to call your insurance company directly to determine in-network status. These insurance plans are ever changing and we encourage you to talk directly with their customer service staff, write down who you spoke with and the date and time.  We have had to go back, when given the wrong information, and challenge payments made. By having the documentation, of who you spoke with and the date and time of your call, the insurance company can often listen to the recording and correct their payment.  

For our patients that do not have insurance we offer our Dental Club.  Information regarding this is on our website: www.lcdentists.com. Being a member of our club offers you savings on your preventive care and also a 12% discount on other services.
